In Psalms 149:6-9 informs us that, when you praise you develop a weapon against the enemy (negative forces). It places the sword in your hand, meaning god gives you the spiritual anointing that you need to rise above all negative situations. With the anointing that comes with praise you can take authority over all power and principalities further, when the atom of your being is wired with purity and respect for the creator your life cannot be ordinary. Your life becomes a light for others to see, God’s word leads to wisdom. Psalm 149:6-7 unequivocally states as a praiser you have the power to take authority over negative circumstances in your life.
Food for thought: (testimony that can change you)
On Friday nights we usually we have prayer meetings, at this time we pray and praise God for His goodness and His greatness. One of the members of the prayer group was a drug counselor therefore at lunch time she would lovingly pray for those who were addicted to drugs. Understanding transference of spirit (energy) I was not surprised that she herself became a chronic alcoholic. The voices in her head would encourage her to keep drinking even though she was vomiting blood. Satan was so clever, that her husband was a minister and he did not have a clue as to what was going on.
On a very cold winter night, she came to prayer meeting; but we all noticed that she was extremely quiet. After service was over, she came to me quietly and she said “Sis. Janet, the Lord said for me to tell you that I am an alcoholic. Therefore, I cannot come here on a Friday night and pretend that I am holy. I am here to shame the devil, because I am not covering up this anymore.” For a moment I was silent I honestly didn’t know what to say. I just kept staring at her crying, then an angry feeling came over me; and at that very moment I knew that this alcoholic demon had to leave.
God made it possible that even though prayer meeting was over there were three praisers in the back room. I called them to help me with the deliverance, after we were almost finished; I anointed her lips and pronounced, “In the name of Jesus, Christ of Nazareth, if alcohol touch your lips you will get sick and vomit.” I anointed her hands and feet and pronounced, “In the name of Jesus, Christ of Nazareth these hands and feet will not enter any liquor store to purchase alcohol.” We did what we had to do and we sent her home.
The next morning at approximately 11:00 AM., she called almost out of breathing stating, “Sis. Janet, I feel so sick, I was in the supermarket shopping and a lady came next to me with a brown paper bag drinking alcohol and just the smell of it made me vomit.” I can remember that moment very clearly, I began praising and thanking God for her deliverance.
I don’t know if she ever told her husband but one thing I know for sure, God has set her free. She is now the assistant pastor in her husband‘s church. Amazing! Everything happened just as we pronounced, due to the anointing of praise. Again, when a praiser praise in the righteousness of God, negative forces have to know their place. Such forces cannot triumph over you when you are determined to follow the teachings of Christ. Now let us lift up the name of the Lord using Psalm 149. You can also recite Psalm 150. Peace be onto you.
Psalm 149 (King James Version)
1Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.
2Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.
3Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.
4For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.
5Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.
6Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand;
7To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people;
8To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;
9To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD.
Psalm 150 (King James Version)
1Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.
2Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.
3Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.
4Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.
5Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.
6Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.
