Christmas should be a time of reflection, to see if our life is close to the light or close to darkness. Jesus Christ was of the light. Jesus Christ represents kindness, truth, justice, forgiveness, love and other positive attributes.
Jesus Christ was such a great gift to mankind, that you should celebrate Him in your thoughts all the time by being mindful of Him as a special gift to you.
The Christmas tree, the merriment, once it is done in good taste it it’s wonderful; but let us understand that true celebration must first take place in your mind. Buying the Christmas tree, playing all the sweet Christmas carols, the giving of gifts to family are fine, but what about your standing and appreciation for God? Each time you give a gift, you ahoul be mindful that you have been given the greatest gift, which is the crucifixion. Each time you here about Christmas, Jesus Christ the son of God should enter your mind.
Christmas is also a time to make an extra effort to show appreciation, forgiveness, patience, compassion which in totality is love. It is the best time to review your life and place things in prospective.
In earthly birthday celebrations, you prepare the place or home with Christmas decorations. You can also prepare your spiritual place, which is your mind. Guard your thoughts and flush out all negativities from your mind. You also give physical gifts during Christmas, but you must also remember that you have been given the most wonderful gift; the gift of salvation! Thank God for your gift now.
Please consider these suggestions for this holiday:
1. Walk in the Spirit, meaning let the word of God be the foundation for all your actions.
2. Follow the instructions of Matthew 4v 16. If God is not for something, you should be against it.
3. Don’t be double-minded make your to follow Christ all the way. Worship God in spirit and in truth.
4. Use Matthew 4v 1-11 to give the Devil a word. The Devil will come at your weakest moment to lead you into temptation, be alert.
5. Store up heavenly treasures by doing good deeds. (Matthew 6v 19)
6. Examine your thoughts moment by moment and dismiss any ungodly intensions, therefore you will always be ready to fight power and principalities.
